Jenny Simmonds MSN, BSN Jenny began her nursing career in 1999 with Intermountain Health at LDS Hospital, where she worked on the Cardiac Step-Down Unit before transitioning to the Thoracic Intensive Care Unit. Following her tenure in the ICU, she pursued opportunities in hospital case management, house supervision, and PRN ICU roles across multiple healthcare facilities. She discovered a passion for process improvement, problem-solving, leadership, and mentoring. In 2013, Jenny transitioned into healthcare education, serving as the Central Region Simulation Manager. This role allowed her to integrate her expertise in clinical practice with her passion for leadership development and operational excellence. She later moved into home healthcare, where she served as the Home Health Nurse Administrator. In this capacity, she led a team of clinical operations managers, navigating the complexities of community-based care, addressing operational challenges, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance patient care in the home setting. Currently, Jenny serves as the Director of the Clinical Communication Center and Language Services within Enterprise Care Management. In this role, she is dedicated to optimizing care coordination, improving patient access to essential healthcare services, and addressing social determinants of health. She is committed to ensuring that non-English-speaking patients and their families have equitable access to care and a voice in their healthcare journey. Additionally, Jenny oversees the centralization and optimization of clinical communication processes, ensuring seamless transitions of care, reducing administrative burdens on frontline providers, and leveraging technology to enhance patient and clinician engagement. Her leadership focuses on driving efficiency, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and improving overall healthcare outcomes through strategic innovation. She plays a critical role in assisting patients through triage functions, ensuring individuals are connected to the appropriate level of care in a timely and effective manner, ultimately improving patient safety and healthcare resource utilization.
