VIRGINIA WOMEN'S CENTER

Virginia Women’s Center (VWC) is a full-service women’s health center that encompasses imaging, surgery, urology and more.

Office Locations: 5
Providers: 44
Calls: 140,000/year

Wesley Ralston, Director of Clinical Informatics, is a force for innovation. Her staff and vendors are accustomed to her pushing them on what is possible. In 2016, she championed the implementation of Care Desk as VWC’s CRM.

In 2018, VWC joined Privia and migrated to Athena Health as their PM and EHR. While the change was great in many respects, they struggled with efficiently handling their complicated schedules. Since VWC runs one of the largest imaging centers in Virginia, their scheduling can be quite complicated, involving combining multi-resource scheduling and sequential scheduling while balancing the requirements of all their providers. As a result, they took the major step of automating this complication with Intelligent Scheduling and branching out to multichannel access and Patient Self-Scheduling.

The benefits to VWC have been astounding, including:

  • full visibility and documentation of all patient requests
  • 70% reduced onboarding time for staff
  • 25% of appointments self-scheduled within 6 months – without a dime spent on marketing!
